Seide
Ähnlich wie in der Aquarellmalerei fliesst die Farbe sehr schnell, sodass die Farben ineinanderfliessen. Bei Motiven wird zuerst deren Umrandung mit Konturenfarbe (Gutta) gemalt. Die dickere Farbe dringt in die Seide ein und wirkt nach dem Trocknen als Fliessstopp. Danach werden die Motive mit flüssiger Seidenmalfarbe vorsichtig ausgemalt. Ein Antrocknen der Farbe im Arbeitsvorgang ist zu verhindern, da sich sonst unschöne Trockenränder bilden. Nachdem die Farbe getrocknet ist, wird die Seide in ein Dampfbad eingelegt. So dringt die Farbe vollständig ins Material ein und wird wasserfest.
Hat man einmal die Technik mit nass/nass–nass/trocken im Griff, ist die Seidenmalerei eine sehr kreative Tätigkeit.
Silk (EN)
Silk has its origins in China. It is clamped onto a wooden or metal frame for painting. This stretches the surface of the silk and allows hand-painted designs with fluid, thin paint.
Like watercolor painting, the paint flows very quickly, which causes the different paints to flow into each other. For figurative painting, the outline of the design must first be drawn with contour paint (gutta). This thicker paint penetrates the silk and once it is dried, it causes a flow stop. Afterwards, the inside of the design is carefully colored with liquid silk paint. It is important to prevent the paint from drying during the work process, otherwise unsightly dry edges will form. After the paint has dried, the silk is soaked in a steam vapor. During this process, the paint fully penetrates the material and becomes waterproof.
Once the wet/wet/dry technique is mastered, silk painting is a very creative activity.
